Fun on the Farm

Eating local is fun! When my mom comes out to visit, one of our favorite things to do is check out local farms and artisans in and around Chilliwack. Each time we have a new adventure. We come home with not only local goodies and gifts but a great story to tell.

Today we went into Rosedale and visited a farm that had U-pick strawberries. The recent weather had made searching for perfect strawberries a bit of a challenge but it was still very fun.

So far our strawberry plants at home have only given us two strawberries - luckily summer has just begun. There is still lots of time for my strawberries to grow and plenty more time for local farm tours!  

A Cut Above the Rest

 My earliest memories of my Aunty Sandy were of her gardening outside her home. She has always been a dedicated gardener and it really shows.

It is amazing the gardens she has created surrounding her home...growing with each season.

A green thumb I do not have. A pair of scissors I do have... along with a vase or two and a creative itch that needed to be tended to.

I love the cabbage lookin thing. No idea what it is called or how to grow it. I just know it is purdy!
